We have always had Labrador Retrievers - in my opinion, there is not a better dog. They train easily (most times), they are loyal, excellent with children, they enjoy attention, and they love to swim and hunt. Ours are very athletic, although,the girls seldom let the boys play - they love to retrieve balls, or frisbees, or whatever else you throw for them.
